Who is Erika?
Biography – Erika Scott B.Eng
Hi, I’m Erika Scott, founder of JigSavvy Consulting. My 25 years of experience and degree in Chemical Engineering, laid the groundwork for my unusual variety of process development, business and construction skills. I can certainly talk the talk in the office and walk the walk on-site having well-worn boots to prove it.
My ability to translate technical concepts into easily understood ideas has always been my superpower. My first position after graduation was in technical marketing since salespeople and engineers often do not speak the same language, and I’ve always been able to bridge the gap.
This inherent technical translation proved invaluable in several corporate roles, including proposal and bid management, project and program management.
After my leave from large international corporations and projects, I brought my skills to small and mid-sized businesses, holding roles in, HR, project management, sales, marketing, customer service, business management, bookkeeping, and business development. Whew! It’s been quite the ride.
Although a laundry list of my work history may seem unnecessary, it is relevant for you to have confidence that I understand skilled trades business inside and out. The information I provide has been an accumulation of 20 years and many mistakes working in the industry.
Recently, I have shifted my priority to helping trade-based businesses improve their overall success. Using construction-specific language, and examples from life to remove the barrier that often holds companies back has become my current passion.
